Jennifer and Tim were married on a special day in April when the snow stopped, the clouds parted and the blue skies were brighter than ever. The ceremony was held at the breathtaking Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church with the reception just a few steps away at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Everything about the wedding was sophisitcated and gorgeous with every detail in place thanks to Ambiente. One detail I loved was that Jennifer wore her mom's original wedding veil and I know Tim (and everyone) would agree that she was s stunning bride. Tim and Jennifer thank you so much for trusting me to capture this important moment in your lives.
To brighten this May day, I am posting all of Nellie's monthly photos I've been taking throughout her first year. The idea was inspired by this blog. I also borrowed the idea of creating a custom fabric for Nellie's last month (which involved me writing her name on a piece of paper, scanning it and uploading it to this website to create the fabric). At her one year birthday party I displayed the photos and now they are hung in her bedroom. I am definitely bias, but try not to be cheered up by these bright colors and smiles :)
It has been such a joy watching baby Jack grow over the last 9 months. See the photos of him in his mom's cute belly and his first newborn photos here. Now through the magic of blogging, we get to skip ahead to see him grow from his 3rd, 6th and 9th month. Here he is melting my heart at 3 months ...
Same sweet face at 6 months ...
Now I am chasing those little feet at 9 months ...
Today I am thankful to get to blog about some wonderful news .... Joe and Joey's wedding! The day ended up being a snowy April day, and I thought it made for a beautiful backdrop to their bright and cheery wedding celebration. I knew after their Engagement Session that they were up for anything and that they love to laugh. In addition to both being hi-larious, they also truly adore each other, and the combination makes my job so easy. Their ceremony was held at the beautiful Bethlehem Lutheran church and the reception was at the historic Day Block Event Center in Minneapolis. Joe's, I am so glad that I had the chance to meet you and I have had a blast documenting this awesome time in your lives!
Kathleen and Mike came all the way from Milwaukee for the Engagment Photos. I had such a great time with them, I wanted to keep hanging out with them even after the photos were done. Stay tuned for more photos from their wedding coming up this May!
It's hard to believe my baby girl is one! We threw a small birthday party for her, and besides the beautiful gift of flowers from Just Bloomed (she is a lucky niece!), one detail I loved was the display of monthly photos I've been taking of her on fabric backdrops. (I haven't shot the final month yet, I will share them all soon. Below you can see a glimps of the custom "Nellie" fabric I made for her last month) My favorite part of the party was watching her eat her cake (not the part where she couldn't sleep after all the sugar). Thank you Nell-Bell for your feisty spirit and your sweet hugs, your dad and I are head-over-heels for you.
This is the time of year everyone loves to complain about Minnesota, but I say shhhh!
"This is for everyone around the planet That wishes they were from somewhere other than where they standin' Don't take it for granted, instead take a look around Quit complaining and build something on that ground Plant something on that ground, dance and sleep on that ground Get on your hands and knees and watch the ants walk around That ground Make a family, make magic, make a mess Take the stress, feel your motivation and build your nest It sucks that you think where I'm from is wack But as long as that's enough to keep your ass from coming back And with a smile and a hint of sarcasm, he said "I beg your pardon but this is my secret garden""
Atmosphere - Seven's Travels "Always coming back home to you/(plays at 4:56) Say shh"
You may remember this cute family froman older post when they were about to be a family of three. In (what feels like) the blink of an eye, their sweet baby boy is now 9 months old! This year they get to celebrate St. Patty's day with the newest "little sham rocker".
